sometimes i see inside jokes so much that i forget they are people’s inside jokes and then it slips into my vocabulary and then i realize a day later that i used someone else’s inside joke and then i feel like a total asshole

when i was a kid my sister’s friend was really into ann rice books and they would pretend lestat was real and they would carve his name into wood and stuff when no one was looking
